Woking Golf Club

Hole 18

362 Yards Par 4 - Stroke 17

The final hole epitomises Woking's grace and beauty. This is a captivating hole with its tiered green nestling between a pond and a giant oak. The line from the tee is on the Clubhouse clock or just right of it when the flag is in its championship position tucked behind the sentinel oak. An accurately positioned drive is much more important than a long drive into the wrong area of the fairway. The green, one of Woking's largest, is protected by bunkers at the front with only a tight gap through which to play a running shot. The putting surface slopes in a series of steeply edged benches from left to right down to the pond and are a stern test for the putter to negotiate. It is a fitting farewell to a fine golf course, full of character and challenge.
